About the walk

International Women's Day is celebrated on March 8 every year. Join us this year on a walk that celebrates some of the women of the city of Pune. Starting from Jijabai to Dr. Anandi Joshi to Cornelia Sorabjee; from the first girls' school in India to temples built by women from the Peshwai, Pune has been home to some of the greatest women in Indian history!

On this walk, we will share stories of these women and visit some of the places that still stand as a testament to their work.

Kshitija P
After studying biotechnology and business administration, Kshitija found her passion in food. She has a master’s in Indology from Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth Pune and is now planning to delve into food history and various food traditions. She loves trekking in the Himalayas and window gardening.

  • There are two parking lots near Mandai, but given that the streets are narrow and the parking space fills up very fast, we recommend that you use public transport.
  • Photography allowed in a few places.
