About the walk

The kingdom of Nagpur was founded by the Gond rulers of Deogarh and later came under the rule of the Nagpur Bhonsles. The empire of the Nagpur Bhonsles covered the eastern part of Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Orissa, and parts of Madhya Pradesh and Jharkhand. Later, under British rule, Nagpur became the capital of the Central Provinces and Berar.

The old city has many heritage structures form the Gond and Bhonsle periods. Let us walk back in the time, through the places that have witnessed the evolution of Nagpur.

Both of these young architects from Nagpur are enthusiastic explorers. Born and brought up in Nagpur, they have a keen interest in the history and heritage of their city. Amol is currently pursuing his master's degree in urban planning, while Mandira is passionate about photography and the arts.
