About the Talk

UNESCO recognizes that from ‘Cultural heritage to Cultural and Creative Industries, Culture is both an enabler and a driver of the economic, social and environmental dimensions of sustainable development’. In India, is this critical role of culture recognized in central and state policies, in implementation of programs and in civic and corporate engagement? What are some ways that Corporate Social Responsibility funding and grants from Foundations can play a strategic role in strengthening and developing India’s arts and culture sector in synergy with their efforts in areas such as education, empowering marginalized groups and skill development in India? Has the public-private partnership (PPP) model been successful in India? What are its strengths, and what are the concerns it raises when put into practice?
