An Evening Stroll at Itanagar’s Indira Gandhi Park

About the walk

Indira Gandhi Park, located at the heart of Itanagar, is a popular attraction for tourists as well as locals. Adorned with lush vegetation, the park is not only a great spot for relaxation and exercise but also an epicentre of sociocultural, economic and political activities ranging from state-sponsored fairs and festivals to peaceful dharnas and demonstration. The park also houses a sad relic of the past - a fallen warbird, Gnat E-208, manufactured by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL). This aircraft lies in a dilapidated condition today but serves as a reminder of Arunachal Pradesh's reputation in the country’s aviation history.

Join us in this evening stroll at Indira Gandhi Park, Itanagar, as we explore several strands of local history and the evolution of Itanagar as a capital city.

This guided tour is free.
