Exploring the Majestic Cenotaphs of the Scindias

About the walk

This event is ticketed.

Shivpuri means the ‘land of lord Shiva’. It was the summer capital for the Scindias. This beautiful district is very rich in wildlife      with       many historical sites and religious sites scattered along its topography. The walk begins at the Shivpuri Chhatri (cenotaph), the memorials of Scindia dynasty rulers. Surrounded by a formal Mughal garden and constructed under the rule of the Scindias, the chhatri is one of the spectacular monuments that shows a fine blend of both Mughal as well as Rajput architecture .

Along with the temples and  the royal majestic tombs of Scindias, Shivpuri has huge trees, green orchards and verdant bushes which display  the beautiful fusion of architecture styles.
