The Life and Times of Nizam Mir Osman Ali Khan

About the walk

Among all of the seven monarchs of the Asaf Jahi dynasty (also known as the Nizams), the seventh and last one, Mir Osman Ali Khan, is the most well-known. From being one of the world’s richest man at one point of time in history to getting the moniker of being a miser, Osman Ali Khan’s life is as interesting as it gets.

Perhaps one of the best places to understand Osman Ali Khan’s life and his achievements as the Nizam of Hyderabad (and also the end of his monarchy through Operation Polo by the Indian government in 1948) is the Nizam's Museum at Purani Haveli. The museum houses several interesting artefacts which were presented to Khan on his completion of 25 years as a monarch.

So come join us for a walk to look at all the important artefacts at the museum, as the walk leader takes you through the life of Osman Ali Khan.

This guided tour is free.
