Life, Times and People - Secunderabad in 19th-20th Centuries

About the walk

The Secunderabad we know today was once a British cantonment. The town had a completely different history from Hyderabad, owing to the convergence of Europeans and several different local communities. The present-day Secunderabad, with its churches, temples, bazaars and educational institutions, is reminiscent of this history.

Join us in this walk to get glimpses of the Secunderabad of the 19th and 20th centuriesthe people who lived here and the city they made.

The walk begins at St. John's Church, where we get a glimpse of the Deccan Club. It then explores the storied railways and educational institutions in the area, and ends at the clock tower.

This guided tour is free.
