The walk leader will first take us to the sehen or the courtyard of the Jama Masjid. The walk around the mosque will be spent analysing the significance of the location and the architectural language of the mosque with respect to Shahjahanabad in the seventeenth century as well as in contemporary times. While descending the grand steps, the participants will be introduced to Urdu Bazar and Matia Mahal. Join us for the walk and be fascinated by the area’s historical legacy.

  • Parking facilities not available. We recommend availing public transport.
  • Please wear comfortable walking shoes and carry drinking water. You will have to remove your shoes before entering the mosque, so choose your footwear accordingly. Carry a scarf/cap to cover your head. Avoid shorts and knee-length or sleeveless attire. Maintain decorum.
