Trailing Around the Krishnapura Chhatris of Indore

Indore is the main artery of the Heart of India has a rich genesis! The cleanest city of India is known for its rich food and Heritage. One such must-visit heritage site of Indore is Krishnapura Chhatris. Known for its beautifully illuminated vista during the night has a lot to tell about. Hardly anyone knows the tale of this famous architectural piece. 

Built-in the late 1800s in the memory of the Holkar rulers, these Chhatris stand to witness the passing of the great Maratha Rulers and the founders of the state of Indore aka the Holkars. The Chhatris were constructed on the spot where the Holkars were cremated. Located near Rajwada the dwelling of the Holkars, these silent witnesses’ stands elegantly on the banks of the Khan River. 


The Maratha rulers were highly skilled architects. The place has to a lot to offer besides history and heritage. If you are a photography enthusiast, then this place will be a treat for you. Let’s follow the trail of the Holkars to capture these outstanding monument built for them.
