Reliving Stories of the Freedom Struggle in Banaras

About the walk

Nelson Mandela once said, ‘Let freedom reign. The sun shall never set on so glorious a human achievement.’

The struggle for freedom in India is considered a glorious movement. Be it the martyrdom of Mangal Pandey and Bhagat Singh or the many non-violent satyagrahas of Mahatma Gandhi, all these people played a vital role in the struggle for freedom in India.

Constructed by Babu Shiv Prasad Gupta, the Bharat Mata Mandir is a temple dedicated to Mother India. Instead of deities, the mandir contains a huge map of undivided India. This temple is one of the most important landmarks in the city of Banaras.

Join us on this walk to re-live the glorious history of India and Banaras.

The guided tour is free.
