About the walk

In this walk we will explore the history of the Shiva Temple at Sarona, situated only a short distance from Raipur. Sarona is an important part of the heritage of Chhattisgarh and is embedded in the religious identity of the state. People come to the Shiva Temple to worship, meditate, find peace and have their wishes fulfilled. The temple is situated between two ponds, known respectively as saas and bahu. The ponds are approximately 300 years old and are the main attractions of the temple complex, drawing visitors from far and wide.

Apart from the Shiva Temple, the walk will include a visit to the Shri Hanuman Temple, the Tulsidas Temple and the Santoshi Mata Temple.
