About the Event

As the cold winter days transform to exude the pleasant freshness of spring, people celebrate Basant Panchami or Vasant Panchami. Referred to as the spring festival, it signifies the beginning of Basant Ritu (spring season). Basant is associated with a new beginning in all spheres of life. The predominant colour for Basant Panchami is yellow which symbolises peace, prosperity, light, energy and optimism.  Barley, mustard, sesame and peas all are harvested in February, making it the perfect time to cook some traditional dishes using the same under an amla-laden tree. We will have a traditional/heritage food expert giving out some simple tips while you get to try the forgotten recipes of Basant Panchami.
