Exploring the Rich Natural and Built Heritage of Jabalpur

About the walk

In this walk, we shall explore some of the iconic religious places of Jabalpur constructed by one of the most iconic personalities of the city, Rani Durgavati. We will start our walk from the Shail Parna Udyaan, and proceed on to Devtal group of temples, which was built under the reign of Rani Durgavati in the 13th century and are also known as Laghu Kashi. This unique holy place is bestowed with marvellous beauty by nature itself. The environs are full of music by chirping birds, waterfalls, the sounds of crickets, and fragrances of flowers and fruits.

Once we are done with the walk, we shall proceed with our sketching/painting session at Devtal, where participants can sit and sketch either of the two: built heritage or natural heritage. The selected entries will be published online.

The guided tour is free.
