The Unheard Testimonies of Kalyan

About the walk

Kalyan, the pivotal junction on the central line, is not just another town located far from the city of Mumbai. It is, in fact, one of the important historical cities of Maharashtra. Not far from Kalyan city, there lie two jewels of the ancient period. One belongs to the Konkan Mauryans and the other speaks of the Shilahara period. One depicts Buddhism while the other worships Shaivism.

Hidden away from the eyes of the admirers, these sites hold rare evidence of Kalyan’s once prosperous ancient past. These monuments not only glorify history but also stand as a testimony to the art and architecture of the times.

Join us as we visit this less explored site and listen to the unheard stories of Kalyan’s remaining storytellers.

This guided tour is free.
