About the walk

The Butterfly Museum, also known as the Wankhar Entomology Museum, is located at Riatsamthiah, in the capital city of Shillong. The museum is privately owned and managed by Wankhar.

The museum houses an outstanding collection of different species of butterflies, insects and moths of different colours and patterns, collected from in and around the region.

Rare species of beetles, centipedes, millipedes and tarantulas have also been displayed. The scientifically preserved species of butterflies, moths and beetles are worth a visit.
