Exploring the Majestic Chhatris of the Scindias

About the walk

Shivpuri was once the summer capital of the Scindia clan. The city is a testament to Hindu-Islamic fusion and houses the chhatris or cenotaphs of the Scindias. Found in a Mughal garden, these royal tombs seamlessly blend together Mughal and Hindu architecture. The chhatris are surrounded by tall trees, green orchards and verdant bushes. These spectacular monuments are situated near Madhav National Park.

The chhatris represent the history of the Scindia dynasty. To learn more about the city and the Scindias, come join the walk!
