About the walk

The Salar Jung Museum, located in Hyderabad, is a world-renowned museum famous for its diverse collections of art pieces from across the world. A large chunk of the collection was acquired by Nawab Mir Yousuf Ali Khan, popularly known as Salar Jung III. It is considered the largest collection of artefacts by a single person in the world even today. After relinquishing the post of Prime Minister of Hyderabad to Nawab Mir Osman Ali Khan, Salar Jung dedicated his entire life to collecting and enriching the treasures of art and literature.

Salar Jung Museum has as many as 38 galleries in three blocks—the Indian Block (27 galleries), the Western Block (seven galleries), and the Eastern Block (four galleries). The walk shall take us through the modern art galleries of the museum.
