About the Talk

India is home to numerous and continuously evolving cultural practices, practitioners, spaces and resources. Mapping culture works strongly in the intersection of communities, artists, researchers, institutions and technology. In this break out session we explore the politics of mapping in India and ask questions like who can map culture, for whom and to what end. Speakers include two key players in mapping culture in India – Sahapedia and British Council – who have each been mapping culture in India using uniquely different models

For the session we have Padmapriya Janakiraman, Head - Urban Heritage Documentation Project, Jonathan Kennedy, Director Arts India, British Council and Koninika Roy, Catalyst – Godrej India Culture Lab (who will be a facilitator for the session)
