Remembering the Heroes of the Freedom Struggle - The Naini Jail Walk

About the walk

Prison literature is not new to our country. It was during the trying times before Independence that Mahatma Gandhi wrote My Experiments with Truth in Pune’s Yerawada Jail. The Discovery of India was the result of the four years that Pandit Nehru spent in Ahmednagar Fort. Jayaprakash Narayan wrote Prison Diary while incarcerated and Smt. Vijay Lakshmi Pandit wrote Prison Days in Naini Jail.

On August 17, 2019, let us visit the prison where Nehru and many more spent countless days in captivity. Join us to discover the tangible and intangible heritage preserved in Naini Central Prison. We will also revisit the freedom fighters' struggle to establish an independent India.

This is a custom walk for an assortment of citizens from Allahabad, including students, academicians and aware citizens. This walk is not open to all.
