Heritage Walk Training Programme

Sahapedia hosts a training program for women from homeless shelters to train them to become walk-leaders. The aim is to skill them for an added source of livelihood generation. The idea is to create a multi-fold impact:

  1. Provide opportunities to earn a livelihood and a platform to voice their journeys.
  2. Provide scope for professional and personal development which may have been hindered or impacted due to marginalization of such individuals.
  3. Create awareness among the locals about the stories of these women and generate support to address the problems faced by them.

Check out the impact of the programme, and hear about it from the trainees themselves by clicking HERE.

The program focuses on exposing the trainees to heritage and culture, training in communications, understanding the connection between heritage and tourism and leading heritage experiences. This is further enriched by the vast knowledge base that Sahapedia already provides about the history and heritage of India (and South Asia) and the network of resources that it has in terms of facilitators and walk leaders.
