Man Kunto Maula Fa Haza Ali Ur Maula
This ancient kalam was created by Hazrat Amir Khusro in the courtyard of Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia Mehboob-e-Illahi (RA). Here, it is offered back as a qawwali every year during the Urs, that is, his birthday ceremony. Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia (RA) represents the secular character of Indian culture. His disciple, Hazrat Amir Khusro (RA), was the first to express his patriotism towards Indian soil centuries before the first freedom struggle. This magnificent dargah (shrine) invites you for a journey as it spreads the divine light that gives peace to hearts and souls with the essence of rose in the air. It is considered auspicious to be buried near a saint, and this is why there are so many tombs in this corner of Delhi. On our way, we will experience the sights and sounds of the Nizamuddin basti, passing by Urs Mahal, the white-marbled Chausanth Khamba, the little-known tomb of Atgah Khan, and a 14th century baoli.
