Plunge into the Wilderness

About the walk

The Queen of Hills, Shimla, is home to a number of animals and birds. It comprises most of the country's forest cover after Lahaul and Spiti in Himachal Pradesh. The forests mainly consist of Pine, Deodar and Oak trees. In the midst of these forests, we have the famous wildlife sanctuary which starts right after Dhalli and extends beyond Kufri. It is home to the goral, fox, jackal, flying fox, porcupine, and leopard. We will also come across a variety of birds which would flutter away at the sound of our footsteps. The scenic beauty of the place is as pretty as the forest itself. The sanctuary also comprises of two beautiful wooden cottages. Walking through the magical forest, one feels enchanted by its beauty and grandeur. Away from the city, one goes here to calm their mind and search for solace. Let’s escape this weekend and go into the wilderness to explore Shimla's mysterious forests.

This guided tour is free.
